Palestinian Influencers to Know: Ramallah Comedy to Nablus Beauty

“Cafés and coffee shops are a defining feature of life in Ramallah”, says the official tourism guide, and the liveliest of them cluster around Al-Manara Square, Al-Masyoun and the Old City. It is a city that talks, and it shows in its creators. The three largest audiences on our Palestinian roster belong to comedians from Ramallah, each with more than 800,000 followers on Instagram.

This is the first of our “Creators to know” pieces: the people behind the numbers, and the craft that earned them.

In short: Palestine’s creators are strongest in comedy, family content, beauty and fashion, and they speak to the youngest audience of any market we work in, with a median age of 20.1. Instagram and Snapchat are where that audience is reached, and Instagram’s reach grew 15.6% in a year. The creators below, all on our roster, range from 37,000 to 1.1 million followers, and the right one for a brand is rarely simply the biggest.

How we chose: every creator here is on our roster, grouped by the niches on their profile. Audience figures are as listed on their MyInfluencers profiles in October 2026.

The audience: young, on Instagram and Snapchat

Measure (DataReportal, late 2025) Palestine Jordan Qatar
Median age 20.1 24.7 33.5
Internet users 4.86 million, 86.6% 10.6 million, 92.5% 3.10 million, 99.0%
Instagram ad reach 1.85 million, up 15.6% in a year 4.55 million 1.70 million
Snapchat ad reach 1.69 million 4.20 million 1.24 million

Two details matter for planning. Snapchat’s reach in Palestine sits close to Instagram’s, and 61.1% of Snapchat’s adult ad audience there is female, which makes it a beauty and fashion platform as much as a messaging one. And with half the population under 21, a creator’s audience here is often the same age as the creator.

Ramallah comedy: the roster’s biggest audiences

  • Shadi Ashi, Ramallah: comedy and commercial content, 1.1M on Instagram and 379K on TikTok.
  • Haya Sweid, Ramallah: comedy, family and commercial content, 1M on Instagram and 524K on TikTok.
  • Islam Ashi, Ramallah: comedy and commercial content, 822K on Instagram and 208K on TikTok.
  • Dabdoub Askar, Ramallah: gaming, comedy and commercial content, 491K on Instagram and 514K on TikTok, the only creator in this piece whose TikTok audience is the larger of the two.

All four list commercial content among their niches, and that matters more than it sounds. Comedy that carries a product is a separate skill from comedy, and the craft is in making the product a natural part of the scene instead of the punchline everyone waits through.

What brands should take from it: comedy in the Palestinian dialect is built on scenes the audience has lived: the household, the neighbourhood, the family argument everyone recognises. Brief the situation, not the script. See every comedy creator we represent on our comedy page.

Family content: the household is the cast

  • Maha Darwish: family, fashion and food, 410K on Instagram.
  • Lelyan: lifestyle and family, 113K on Instagram.

Family creators film something brands spend fortunes trying to stage: a real household using real things. Food is never far away. Maqluba, the upside-down dish of rice, vegetables and meat, is a favourite for family gatherings, and musakhan is often considered Palestine’s national dish. A family creator who cooks one of them on camera is filming a gathering, and the gathering is the point.

The work behind it is easy to underestimate. Every recurring family series is a production with a cast of relatives, a home that doubles as a set, and a schedule fitted around school runs.

What brands should take from it: household products, food and anything a family buys together belong here. Never ask a family creator to stage a family that is not theirs. Our family creators page has the full list.

Beauty, from Nablus outward

Beauty in Nablus has a long pedigree. The city’s historic soap factories in the Old City still operate today, and the same official guide calls Nablus the birthplace of the world-famous knafeh. A beauty creator from a city whose soap makers have worked for generations is not starting from nothing.

The range on this list is the point. A creator with 37,000 followers and one with 549,000 do different jobs: the larger one builds awareness, the smaller one is often closer to the people who will actually walk into a shop. Our beauty creators page lists them all.

Fashion, with the embroidery tradition behind it

Palestinian fashion creators work in front of one of the region’s great textile traditions. UNESCO inscribed the art of embroidery in Palestine on its intangible heritage list in 2021, noting that “the choice of colours and designs indicates the woman’s regional identity” and that the practice “is transmitted from mother to daughter and through formal training courses”. A fashion creator who knows that grammar of colour and pattern styles differently from one who learned it from a mood board.

What brands should take from it: fashion audiences of 81,000 to 133,000 who follow a creator for her taste are exactly what a boutique brand needs: people who came for the clothes. See our fashion creators page.

What we would push back on

  1. Booking only the biggest names. The comedians have the reach; the beauty and fashion creators under 150K often have the buyers. Most good plans use both.
  2. Writing a comedian’s lines in formal Arabic. The dialect is the delivery. We wrote about why dialect beats translation.
  3. Leaving Snapchat out. Its reach in Palestine is close to Instagram’s, and its adult audience is mostly women.
  4. Treating a family as a set. The audience knows the family. Fit the product into their day, not the day around the product.

Quick answers

Who are some Palestinian influencers brands can book? On our roster: the Ramallah comedians Shadi Ashi, Haya Sweid, Islam Ashi and Dabdoub Askar; family creators such as Maha Darwish and Lelyan; beauty creators such as Nagham Pro from Nablus and Lama; and fashion creators including Maria Abu Samra and Mira Alosh. The full list is on our roster.

Which social media platforms are most used in Palestine? By advertising reach in late 2025, Facebook reaches 2.30 million people, Instagram 1.85 million (and growing fastest), Snapchat 1.69 million and TikTok 552,000 adults, according to DataReportal.

What the figures cannot show yet is what this young audience will make next. With half the population under 21, the people watching these creators today are the creators of the next few years, and nobody has a chart for that.

So when three comedians from one city already hold more than 800,000 followers each, is your brief asking them to be funny, or asking them to read your script?
